42nd Street Pete's 8mm MADNESS!
Rare and Unusual 8mm Home Movie Stag Loops from 1970s!
8mm loops were dirty movies from the 1970s. It was a roll of film that you screened on your home movie projector. This was the days before VHS, DVD, Blu-Ray or Streaming.. They were sold under the counter in adult bookstores or camera shops. A film like this would run for 12 minutes each and could cost $20 to $100 per reel...and thats 60s and 70s money!
In the late 1960s the loops would be labeled with names like "Pretty Girls," "Golden Girls," etc. Most of these loops had no titles as after repeated playing the film would get worn and simply break off: they would just start with "saucy material" or get down to it after a minute or so of plot. Common plots were doctor/patient, boss/secretary, hitchhikers being picked up, etc., with darker plots showcasing S&M and other twisted stuff.
42nd Street has hand-picked 20 loops out of his personal film archive. This first installment is all color and has something for everyone. Call it a great mixed bag, and a salute as well, to that 42nd Street mainstay, Blackjack Books - a place that retained that old Times Square squalor right up until it was closed.
