INDIE FILMMAKERS LAUNCH CROWDFUNDING CAMPAIGNS FOR NEW MOVIES IN PRODUCTION!

We all love watching horror films around Halloween (heck, for some of us every day is Halloween!).  But this year, why not step up your game by contributing to a brand-new horror film from two of Camp’s favorite independent filmmakers?

Henrique Couto (Scarewaves, Haunted House on Sorority Row) and Chris LaMartina (WNUF, Call Girl of Cthulhu) need your support to bring their newest spooky projects to fruition!

Babysitter Massacre 2 & 3 - Head on over to the Kickstarter page to help Henrique turn his fan-favorite-feature Babysitter Massacre into a frighteningly good franchise! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ukeordie/make-babysitter-massacre-a-slasher-franchise

About Babysitter Massacre - A gruesome indie slasher in the tradition of Slumber Party Massacre and House on Sorority Row. Years ago, on Halloween night, a group of childhood friends watched in horror as a member of their Babysitter Club was abducted by a masked stranger. Now, haunted by their tragic past, the young women plan a bittersweet reunion before heading off to college.  Available on Blu-Ray/DVD Combo and VHS from Alternative Cinema!

Henrique Couto writes about the sequels:
5 years and some change ago I embarked on a very special endeavor, I wrote, produced, and directed a film called Babysitter Massacre. It was early in what would become my film career and myself and the talent behind it had no idea how much the film would stick. It ended up becoming the last independent film on the shelves of Blockbuster as well as streaming on Amazon Prime Video very early in that platform. This led to it finding a really strong audience, and establishing myself and many of the performers in film.

When I made the film I was fulfilling a fandom of 80s horror films creating my own slasher movie, I tried to homage to my favorites. Not just Halloween and Friday the 13th, but Sorority House Massacre, Sleepaway Camp, and Slumber Party Massacre. After several successful Kickstarters for comedies and dramas I've decided to come back looking to fulfill one last fandom for Babysitter Massacre... The FRANCHISE. So today my friends, I am asking you to help me make not one, but TWO films. Two horror films to bring the Babysitter Massacre name into a new echelon.

Deadline for participation is Friday November 2, 2018. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/ukeordie/make-babysitter-massacre-a-slasher-franchise

And if you haven’t had a chance to see the original Babysitter Massacre, head on over to our VHS / DVD page!

WNUF Halloween Special Sequel – Head on over to GoFundMe.com to ensure the epic awesomeness of WUF Halloween Special – a found-footage feature framed as a VHS recording of a live show from 1987 - continues its grisly saga! https://www.gofundme.com/wnuf-halloween-sequel

About WNUF Halloween Special - Originally broadcast live on October 31, 1987, the 'WNUF Halloween Special' is a stunning expose of terrifying supernatural activity that unfolded at the infamous Webber House, the site of ghastly murders. Local television personality Frank Stewart leads a group of paranormal investigators including Catholic exorcist, Father Joseph Matheson and the prolific husband-and-wife team Louis and Claire Berger. Together, the experts explore the darkest corners of the supposedly haunted Webber House, trying to prove the existence of the demonic entities within. Did they find the horrific truth or simply put superstitious rumors to rest?

Chris LaMartina says:

Hi. I’m Chris LaMartina and I love Halloween.

A few years ago, myself and a mini- army of cinematic comrades made a little movie called WNUF HALLOWEEN SPECIAL.It was love letter to local television and everyone's favorite spooky holiday.  The project was covered by major media outlets like the New York Times and National Public Radio and since its release, it’s become a minor cult classic amongst film fans for it’s kitschy quirks and DIY aesthetic.

That project holds a important place in my heart and after much soul-searching I realized I wasn't done with that universe and it was time we make a sequel.

That means I’m going to need your help.

Any money donated toward this project will go directly to the costs surrounding production. Everything from locations to costumes… special FX to stock footage licensing.

Who cares about deadlines? Just donate now. https://www.gofundme.com/wnuf-halloween-sequel

The original WNUF Halloween Special is available on Amazon Prime Streaming, DVD and special edition VHS from Alternative Cinema
